IV Therapy for Jet Lag & Travel Fatigue
Miami and Tampa are gateways for long-haul travel, cruises and conferences, and plenty of people arrive dried out and off schedule with something to do the next morning. Ivology brings an IV to your hotel room or home so you can recover without another trip.
An IV cannot reset your body clock. What it can do is deal with the dehydration and depletion that come with travel, which is often a large part of why you feel so rough.
When an IV may help
After a long-haul flight
Hours of dry cabin air, little water, and a meal schedule that made no sense, followed by a full day ahead.
Before or after a cruise or conference
Back-to-back days of travel, late nights and early starts, with no time to recover properly.
Frequent flyers
You travel every week or two and want a regular routine that helps you stay on top of it.
Drips people choose for this
Energy Boost IV
IV fluids with our highest dose of vitamin B12, plus B-complex, magnesium and L-carnitine. The usual choice when you land tired and need to function.
Immune Boost IV
High-dose vitamin C with zinc, B vitamins and glutathione. Popular with travelers who want immune support around flights and crowded events.
Myers' Cocktail
A balanced, all-purpose drip of fluids, magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C.
Jet lag and travel fatigue are two different things
Jet lag is your internal clock being out of step with local time. It causes trouble sleeping, daytime sleepiness and poor concentration, and it resolves as your body adjusts, roughly a day per time zone crossed. Light exposure at the right times, sleep and patience are what fix it.
Travel fatigue is the wear of the journey itself: dehydration from cabin air, poor sleep, sitting for hours, alcohol and salty food. This is the part an IV addresses. Rehydrating and replacing B vitamins and magnesium will not shift your body clock, but many travelers find it makes the first day much more manageable.
Booking around your trip
The most useful time is the day you arrive or the following morning. Tell us your hotel name and room number, and let the front desk know a nurse is visiting. Some hotels ask guests to meet visitors in the lobby.
If you are flying out, leave comfortable time: the visit takes about an hour and fifteen minutes, including the health assessment. Travelers on a regular schedule often book the same slot each trip, and a HydroClub membership lowers the cost per visit.
A caution for long flights
Long periods of sitting raise the risk of a blood clot in the leg. Pain, swelling, warmth or redness in one calf after a flight is not travel fatigue. Neither is sudden breathlessness or chest pain. Those need urgent medical attention, not an IV.
When it is not just travel fatigue
Call 911 or go to an emergency room, and do not book an IV, if after travel you have:
- Pain, swelling, warmth or redness in one leg
- Sudden shortness of breath or chest pain
- Fainting, or a racing or irregular heartbeat
- A high fever, particularly after travel abroad
- Severe headache, confusion or a stiff neck
- Vomiting or diarrhea that will not stop
Mobile IV therapy is an elective wellness service. It is not emergency care and does not diagnose or treat any medical condition.
Jet Lag & Travel Fatigue: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an IV cure jet lag?
No. Jet lag is a body-clock problem that resolves with time, light and sleep. An IV helps with the dehydration and fatigue that come with travel, which often makes you feel better while your clock adjusts.
Can you come to my hotel?
Yes. We visit hotels throughout our Miami and Tampa service areas, including those near the airports and cruise ports. Give us the hotel name and room number when you book.
Which drip do travelers choose?
The Energy Boost IV is the most common pick after a long flight. Travelers who want immune support often choose the Immune Boost IV, and the Myers' Cocktail is a good all-rounder.
Should I get one before or after flying?
After arriving is where most people find it most useful. Some frequent flyers also book the day before a long trip so they start well hydrated.
I fly constantly. Is there a membership?
Yes. HydroClub is our month-to-month membership with member pricing, and it suits people who book regularly around travel.
