Mobile IV Therapy in Temple Terrace
Temple Terrace is its own small city on a bend of the Hillsborough River, northeast of Tampa. It was planned in the 1920s around a golf course and named for the Temple orange, which once grew here in one of the largest citrus groves in the world. Today it is a quiet place of rolling streets, old oaks, and river views, next door to a major university and some of the region's biggest hospitals. Ivology brings IV therapy to homes here. A licensed registered nurse comes to you and stays for the whole drip.
This page covers where we go in and around the city, how visits work, and who tends to book.
A golf course city on the river
Temple Terrace was laid out as a winter resort for wealthy northerners, with Mediterranean Revival houses arranged around the fairways. The golf course still runs through the middle of the city, and unusually for Florida, the land has real hills. Later decades added mid-century ranch homes, and the city has one of the larger collections of that style in the area.
The city is bounded roughly by the river on the east and south, 56th Street on the west, and Fowler and Fletcher Avenues to the north. We cover all of it, along with the university area to the west, the Terrace Park and Sulphur Springs neighborhoods toward Tampa, and Thonotosassa across the river. New Tampa, a few miles north, has its own page.
Simple house calls
Most of Temple Terrace is single-family homes with driveways on quiet residential streets. There are no gatehouses in the older neighborhoods, and parking is never an issue. Your nurse parks, knocks, and sets up wherever you are comfortable.
The streets around the golf course curve and change names, so a landmark or the nearest cross street is helpful. In the apartment communities near Fowler Avenue and the university, give us the building and unit number and any gate or call-box code. If you have a dog, let us know, and keep it in another room while the IV is placed.
University people
The university's main campus is just across 56th Street, and a small college sits inside the city itself. Faculty, staff, graduate students, and researchers make up a large share of the population, and many undergraduates live in the apartments along the city's western edge.
Students aged 18 and over can book for themselves. Exam weeks, thesis deadlines, and the days after graduation are when most of them do, and the Energy IV is the usual request. A drip does not replace sleep or meals, and we say so. Parents visiting for move-in or commencement, often staying in hotels along Fowler Avenue, can book a visit to their room.
Hospital and research staff
A cluster of major hospitals lies within a couple of miles: the cancer center, the veterans' hospital, and several others, along with the research labs attached to them. Many of the nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and scientists who work there live in Temple Terrace because the drive is short.
People coming off nights or long shifts usually book for the afternoon, after sleeping. The Energy IV and the Myers' Cocktail are the common choices. Clinicians often want to know exactly what is in each tier, and the amounts are listed on each drip's page. The assessment is the same for everyone, including those who place IVs for a living.
Long-time residents
Temple Terrace has many households who have lived here for decades, and a good number of our clients are older adults. Age itself is not a barrier. What matters is health history.
Heart failure, kidney disease, and medicines such as diuretics change how the body handles extra fluid. Your nurse will check blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen level, go through every medication, and decide whether a drip is appropriate. Please have a list ready. If the nurse recommends talking to your physician first, that advice is given for your safety. A spouse or adult child is welcome to sit in.
The river, the parks, and the heat
The Hillsborough River wraps around the city, and residents kayak and canoe from Riverhills Park and the other launches along it. Just upstream are the cypress swamps and boardwalks of a county park that is popular with walkers and birdwatchers. The golf course, the tennis courts, and the city's recreation complex keep people outside all year.
Inland and away from the bay breeze, summer afternoons here are hot and still. Carry water on the river, where shade comes and goes and there is nowhere to refill. After a long paddle or a round of golf, the Recovery IV is what active clients book. Confusion, fainting, or hot, dry skin in the heat is an emergency. Call 911.
Theme park days and visitors
One of the state's largest theme parks is a few minutes west, along with its water park. Residents with annual passes go often, and visiting relatives nearly always want a day there.
A full day at a theme park in a Florida summer is hours of walking on hot pavement, long lines in the sun, and more soda than water. Adults often come home with a headache and nothing left. A hydration-focused drip or the Myers' Cocktail the next morning is a reasonable choice for ordinary dehydration. We do not treat children under 13, and anyone under 18 needs the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Timing around Fowler and 56th
Fowler Avenue, Fletcher Avenue, 56th Street, and Busch Boulevard carry the area's traffic, and all of them slow at the start and end of the workday and when classes change. Interstate 75 is a few minutes east.
Late morning and early afternoon are the easiest times for a visit to begin exactly as scheduled. In summer, afternoon thunderstorms are frequent, so morning is the safer choice. The online calendar shows the times we can staff for the Tampa region.
Families and choosing a drip
Temple Terrace is also a city of families, drawn by the schools, the parks, and the recreation programs. Parents usually book for mid-morning after drop-off or in the evening, and during cold and flu season many book once a virus has worked its way through the house. An IV does not cure or prevent a cold. It helps with hydration, and many people feel that makes the recovery easier. Couples often book together, and each person has an individual health assessment.
The Myers' Cocktail is the usual first drip, a long-established blend of fluids, B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium. The Immune Boost is requested most in winter and at the start of the school year, the Beauty IV ahead of weddings and graduations, and the Hangover IV the morning after a football Saturday or a celebration. Each drip is offered in three tiers, Essential, Protocol, and Signature, and your nurse can help you decide. We do not bill insurance, and the website and booking are also available in Spanish.
What your visit includes
Every visit is performed by a licensed registered nurse, and many of our nurses have ICU or ER backgrounds. The nurse reviews your health history, medications, and allergies, takes your vital signs, and starts the IV only if it is appropriate that day.
The infusion takes 45 to 60 minutes. The nurse stays throughout, removes the line, and takes all used supplies away. Every drip comes in three tiers, with current prices on the services page, and HydroClub membership lowers the cost for those who book regularly. Mobile IV therapy is an elective wellness service and never a substitute for emergency care.
